Founded in 2000 by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Blue Origin is a private spaceflight company that focuses on reusable rockets for space exploration. Headquartered in Kent, Washington, Blue Origin's initial years were quiet, but the firm made headlines in 2015 after successfully launching and landing its reusable New Shepard rocket. Blue Origin states that its focus on space exploration is driven by a single purpose—to restore and sustain Earth—and to that end, envisions harnessing the vast resources available in space. With its current New Glenn rocket, Blue Origin is looking to break into the space currently dominated by Elon Musk's SpaceX, and is actively working with NASA to develop a human landing system for the Artemis program that seeks to return humans to the Moon. Blue Origin is also a commercial launch partner for the U.S. Space Force, having been onboarded into various programs.
