Supermoon

Supermoon

A supermoon is observed when the Moon, in its elliptical orbit around Earth, is at its closest point (perigee) to the planet during a Full Moon phase. While supermoons appear consecutively, they appear only three to four times a year, since a perigee rarely coincides with a full moon phase.
