Orbiting at about 250 miles above Earth, the International Space Station (ISS) has served as humanity's home in space since November 2000. It is not owned by a single nation, but is rather a joint project involving five space agencies—NASA (U.S), Roscosmos (Russia), JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe), and CSA (Canada).
