In a recent update, the Pentagon has released its seventh batch of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) files today, on October 23, 2026. This includes 28 new records, and it now brings the total number of archived files to 478 across seven releases. One of the most notable sightings mentioned in the files includes a black triangle-shaped object spotted near a secure facility. The department is now actively working on releasing the next set of UAP files.

According to the file, federal special agents at a sensitive location in the Western United States recently noticed a black, triangle-shaped aircraft about three miles away. The object was nine to 15 feet across, six feet deep and two feet thick. It showed none of the usual aircraft lights and made no sound. Those who wish to read the documents released can head to the official website of the Department of War or visit the direct link here.

What did the agents see near the secure site?

The document added that the object shot up about 200 feet, moved sideways and dove back down. On top of that, thermal equipment could not detect a heat signature. Strangely enough, this is not the only case. Three separate reports in the release also describe a black triangle over sensitive military sites. The Pentagon has also published a rendering of the triangle too. Even so, the records offer no conclusions and no theories about what the object was.

Commenting on this release, Secretary of War for Public Affairs and Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell said in an official statement, "Today, the Department of War is publishing the seventh release of declassified and historical Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) files as part of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE)."

What else is in the new files?

There are also records dating back to the 1940s and 1950s. Among them are a metallic, elliptical object spotted in Sweden in 1953 as well as an unusual sighting in Saudi Arabia in 1957, and multiple flying saucer sightings on Catalina Island in California. There are also declassified reports on alleged paranormal activity at Utah's Skinwalker Ranch.

In one incident, which occurred on June 16, 2009 as per the files, a witness saw a pair of eyes across the street, but they were purple. Describing the event, the file notes that when the witness went outside, he noticed "flickers of light off in the distance." And across the street, he noticed "a pair of eyes as if an animal's eyes were reflecting in the light, except they were deep purple." The witness also shared that he saw "a whitish humanoid figure stand up and walk along the neighbor's fence."

The releases trace back to February, when President Donald Trump said on Truth Social that he would be “directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.”
