Where are the Soyuz 11 cosmonauts buried?

In 1971, the Soyuz 11 crew- Georgi T. Dobrovolski, Vladislav N. Volkov, and Viktor I. Patsayev - became the first humans to live aboard a space station during their mission to Salyut 1, the world’s first orbital space station. Their 23-day stay proved that long-duration human life in space was possible and marked a major milestone in space exploration. However, during re-entry to Earth, a cabin depressurization occurred in Soyuz 11, and the crew did not survive. The mission ended in tragedy shortly before landing, despite being successful in orbit. After a state funeral in Moscow, their remains were cremated and placed inside the Kremlin Wall at Red Square, one of the highest honors in the Soviet Union. Today, their legacy remains both a breakthrough in human spaceflight and a reminder of its risks.
