Watch: Reid Wiseman and Artemis II crew receive America’s highest space honor

Reid Wiseman and his three Artemis II crewmates - Christina Koch, Victor Glover and Jeremy Hansen - have received the Congressional Space Medal of Honor, the highest U.S. space award. President Donald Trump presented the medals on August 28, 2026, at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, recognizing the crew’s historic mission around the Moon and their contributions to NASA’s return to crewed lunar exploration. Including the Artemis II crew, there are now 34 recipients of the award that was "authorized by Congress in 1969 to recognize an astronaut who, in the performance of duties, has distinguished himself or herself by exceptionally brave and meritorious efforts, and contributions to the welfare of the nation and humanity," stated NASA.
